To ensure a safe and fun environment for its membership, GGC new applicant process verifies the applicant can possess a firearm, has read our rules, and attends a safety orientation class and tour of the facilities.

Once you apply, you will receive 2 emails. One is a receipt for your non-refundable application fee; the other will be next steps with links and instructions on how to proceed. It closely matches what is on this screen.
Background Check
Demonstrate you can legally possess and purchase a firearm. We accept any 1 of these 4 options; there are NO exceptions. Bring your credential and driver's license to class and the instructor will verify this item is complete.
* official credentials from a Class I active duty law enforcement officer; OR
* valid and unexpired, SC CWP; OR
* SC SLED check (https://catch.sled.sc.gov/) ; OR
* FBI Background check
Note: FBI Background checks must be dated within 6 months of application (do this early to expedite application). The most expeditious way to get an FBI background check, is to type "FBI Channeler" in Google and use a local service. This usually takes 2-3 weeks to return a report. When asked, the reason is for personal reasons.
Original Docs only - Under NO circumstances should you mail, email, or fax a copy of your background information to the club. All background check documentation must be done IN PERSON with a secondary government-issued id such as a SC Driver's License.
Signatures
We require two signatures to acknowledge receipt and understanding of our Waiver Form and Range Safety Rules. After execution, you will be given an option to download or print a copy. Use of DocuSign is required. For future reference, these forms are also found under Documents.
Test
Yep, you gotta take a test. Read the Range Safety Rules and then click on the provided link to take our test. This demonstrates that you actually read our rules. If you fail, you may re-take it.
Class
3-hour class and tour. Class discusses operations, entry, Q&A on rules, takes a tour of each of the ranges and how they work, etc. Wear comfy shoes.
Final Fees
Special Summer Final Fee $100. Pay at the Class via check or pay online. Credentials will be mailed to you by the Secretary. Upon receipt of credentials, you are an active GGC Member in full standing and can enjoy all of the benefits of being a member. Credentials are typically sent 1-2 weeks after approval and receipt of funds.
The Greenville Gun Club reserves the right to interview each applicant at a monthly board meeting and officially vote to accept or deny membership. Dues and fees are set annually and are subject to change.
